Quintessence

Christmas is an all-out-fun season thus, it is considered the most wonderful time of the year. Certainly, Christmas is fast approaching. We are already almost two weeks away from the most awaited and beautiful time of the year.
408 hours before we put those mouthful graham cakes that we are usually craving for.
24480 minutes before we summon in the single table of bliss and glee that we are usually dreaming for.
1468800 seconds before we worship the birth of our dear Jesus Christ that we are usually devoting for.
There is very minuscule time left on the clock before we again see the famous Santa Claus.

As we all know, it is an annual commemoration of the birth of our dear creator, Jesus Christ. It is generally celebrated by Christians around the globe. In accordance to Christmas, people tend to observe "exchange gift" as a sign of gratitude for each individual’s help or love to another person, some also do church services such as "Simbang Gabi" as we call it, as praise for our dear Jesus Christ. Some families, even though they are away, convene in a single vicinity for gatherings. In school and in working place, we had a habit to make a Christmas Parties but the most common of all traditions, people place ornamented and bright decorations around their houses like Christmas lights, Christmas trees, lanterns, etc.
We also thought of Christmas as the best day to forgive all the people who have sinned you and also the best day to stop thinking about all the things that must be forgotten. It is a time to for us to be in our happiest mode and we should not think of the problems in the past. If you do, this will ruin your Christmas time so get rid of it.

Even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, take Christmas as the best day ever...fun, grandeur, laughter, sparkling, bright, glee. Ryzza Dizon once said,  "Bawal ang sad dapat happy" Merry Christmas everyone! Spread the love coz this is the quintessence of Christmas.

Equivalence

It cannot be denied that we are now living in a world where rivalry has already arose. It is obvious from all walks of life that inequity continue living. Therefore, stepping to the rights of others still divulging from every corners, opportunities can't be grab by a single grasp of an ordinary inhabitants and the discrimination among men and women, which is hot-issue in our society, is still occurring.

It is really awful to live in a discrimination-contaminated realm because we are not given equal chances for everything. Moreover, there is a great tendency that the rights which everybody craves for will not be given fairly and so with various opportunities that everyone should be enjoying by now. It's a total iniquitous.

"Anti-Discrimination" should be the chief concerns of our bureaucrats from the very start of their presiding. Nevertheless, it not yet too late to bring back the olden times right? Nothing is impossible in the eyes of everyone especially with the supervision of God . "Impossible is not an option."

Perhaps, you've already imagined an injustice-free world and where equality reigns. You will surely
foresight a better way of living and a greatly progressive nation. Provided that everyone act and lend a hand, quests will surely completed. We are equal but then again, they still say that men are stronger than women. Examine your surroundings. In this modernity, women act as men. They are the one who earn their living in their family; they do the jobs that are intended for males. With that, gender not speak anymore because gender equality was already brought out. Every individual should be given appropriate rights he or she truly possesses regardless of gender.

Equal rights should be observed and so with equal opportunities. Execute this and evolution will clasp our environs and the human race.

Bridge of Communication

Planet Earth has subdivided into countries. The local of each place have their own cultures, traditions, beliefs and of course, languages. Therefore, in order to have superior and better communication we should learn and master the "Universal Language", the English.
The English language cannot be denied is at present considered the leading language in the world since it is the common language spoken everywhere. And in my general opinion, English has generally been adopted as a second language especially in Southeast Asian Countries like the Philippines.
English has been playing a major role in many sectors including medicine, engineering, and education, which, in my opinion, is the most important arena where English is needed. Over the years, the nation received compliments regarding our fluency in English speaking. Since we start schooling, the English language is widely used standard in teaching. Honestly, this practice is beneficial to us since we can easily get a job as long as we can speak and understand English.
If you can communicate in English, you can contact people from all over the world, talk about your ideas and opinions. Secondly, you can travel more easily by communicating with people wherever you go. Ask directions, have a conversation, or ask for help. As you know that English is an international language, which is spoken by a majority of population in the world. So you do not have to worry about being totally misunderstood when you visit a new place or country. Other powerful influences of English can be seen or heard on television, radio and motion pictures because they used the standard English of today.
Indeed, the English language will keep anyone abreast of the times. It will enable him to join the stream of the world culture and to take part in the discoveries and inventions. It will make him more completely a citizen of the world. To consummate everything, English language is a bridge of communication.

Why Climate Change?

Mark Twain once said,"Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it." Now, however, scientists can do something about the weather. Perhaps, you've heard about the PAGASA forecasting weather reports. They are the one in-charge of disseminating information to everybody and they called themselves meteorologist.
If we lend our ears to them, we might be heard the word "climate change". First things first, what this term means to you? Most people knew something about the climate change and it is sometimes linked to greenhouse effect or global warming. It is the unexpected rise or fall of temperature in a region. Sad to say, it was caused by our unfavorable actions towards the environment. From cutting down trees, igniting so much oil and gases and strewing trash everywhere you would like to. Consequently, these actions forces to emerge more heart-breaker problems. By this, we are now experiencing intense flood and drought, health breakdown and abnormal rise of temperature. In other words, this is terrible for the environment.
Fortunately, we can still alter this condition. Change can happen in a blink of an eye or a single click of finger if we set ourselves in only one intention or goal - stop climate change.
So what can we do about this? First, instead of trimming a lot of trees, we should plant more trees. Did you know that a tree can absorb a pound of carbon dioxide that will be needed in their photosynthesis? Second, instead of burning so much oil and gases, we should burn fats. Double purpose right?! We are extending our life by doing exercise and at the same time we are part of the "Green Team" (Eco-Lover). Third, instead of throwing the rubbish everywhere and you seems not to care to, we should disposed it properly. Are you aware that the air we are breathing in was contaminated with dirt and germs coming from the undisposed trashes. Lastly, we should always bear in mind the three R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
And when this happen, when we make real the aforementioned, the beautiful, fresh and clean Mother Earth will return in our hands.

"World of Tags"

<html>
<body>
Hearing this "tags" boggled my mind...

First things first, what are this so called tags? Are you aware that these tags subjugate or rule the world wide web? Did you ever notice these <br> </em> <h5 align="left">, actually, these are examples of tags. It wasn't comfortable to see right? This was my first impression or complain in myself but for computer enthusiasts and for my classmates who excelled a lot in ICT class, it was just nothing on them like it was now a part of their life.
Yes, I accomplished the different exercises without even breaking a drop of sweat (kasi nga air-conditioned yong room). But I didn't still get its main main main idea.

But then again as we had out ICT classes, I slowly grasp the main idea or essence of HTML. By the way, HTML or Hypertext Markup Language is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of tags enclosed in angle brackets. It was the output of tags composition with .htm as its extension file. Thereafter this will now be considered as a webpage. See how important the tags is? It was the building blocks of the websites you've always visited.
As I do flashback regarding the exercises, I,ummmh, felt good seeing it again because it was the reflections that I learned something in our 2nd grading ICT subject and the most important I was able to learn the tricks of tags and I'm now hoping for mastery because I'm planning to have a computer-related course.

Lend a Hand, Save a Life

It is now a fact that the world is rapidly changing--from its golden paradise that turned into scarred, afflicted and damaged land. First things first, how is this started? Who are responsible in all of this? Why did they do this? All this BIG questions targeted mainly on us. There is no doubt. We are the only one living in earth.

There is something wrong. Out of the blue, changes drew fast and came naturally. Abnormal phenomena had their stay somewhere that is too close and too powerful for the people. Heavy rains resulting to flash floods, snow storms that blankets the cities, massive earthquakes that crushes the subways, landslides that suffocates the trapped-ones,  high tsunamis that drowns the people in the bay area and pollution that extremely harm us. Make move. We should not just sit there. We can do something. With our great number of population, we can formulate or generate solutions. We can unravel the causes, by simply empowering science clubbers into action!

But what are those actions that are beneficial to the turning of the earths beauty? As a simple person and as a student, what can I contribute? Right. I can do the simple things because we all say that small things have big differences. So, may I now start? Trashing of garbage into proper disposal and segregate correctly, plant a tree today in any open spaces, reduce the use of machines, conserve water, and many more. If we all lend a hand and all of us have this kind of habits, for sure, it will a change. Earth's beauty will slowly turning back and consequently, we can live now happily.

As another school year begins and old routines settle back into place, I do ask to myself, “Am I thanking my teacher?” I admit, I don’t remember a thing. I just greeted them “Good morning or Good afternoon” and I hoped it was a sort of thanking but, it was not. So, here is the moment.
Teachers do exist and continues to exist. Without you the world will be a place of ignorant human being. Imagine, if ignorance dominates the world, what will our state be? Perhaps, everything we do will be in equality and in vain. We cannot recognize the bad to good so, crime will be a high risk. And crazy thinking, we will do funny things like what the first men do in the very old era. A big thanks to you because you continues to eradicate ignorance and forge it to thoughts and ideas. What else can I think of when you are mentioned? Your understanding, hardships, advices, care for us students, new lessons, quizzes, loads of assignments and projects and sometimes, your not so LOL jokes. I forgot to mention, your counseling during classes because of our disobedient attitude, very lazy to pass assignments, very late to go to school and not listening in discussion. But then again, your endless patience and hard work really seems invulnerable and invincible.
As I write this essay, I remembered how I afraid I was when I took my very first step in the classroom. I felt bothered when my classmates looked at me with those strange eyes ready to turn me into stone, but hopefully, not. I had my seat and for the first time, I listened to you. Hearing your wonderful voice everyday puts me into a trance to attend your class regularly and evading me to not miss your class even a single moment. “Education is the key to success.” It is the greatest gift a mankind can ever receive in his/her whole life. It is essential to anybody. However, what if there are no “you” in school? There would be no students in fact; students cannot learn what we suppose to learn. There will be ignorance. You are the core for every profession. There would be no doctors, engineers, architects and others if you didn’t guided them. Having you, our teacher, our second parent, we are able to understand things easier and quicker because you are born intellectually. You taught us the basic to moderate then to insane. You’ve been there as I face my stepping stones in my life. You are my savior in this unfair life and in times of fall because you always there to pull our hands and forces us stand again to our own feet.

With that experiences I had in the four corners of the room, you inspired me to continue learning with an open and positive mind. Once again, thank you so much for your time, expertise and love! I really appreciated your works; it meant so much to me. You owe me a lot! You’re my hero!

"HERO" sounds good to the ear. It is everyone's desire. It is sometimes we wished upon the shooting star and it is usually we are dreaming of. The word HERO can be written or spelled simply and can be said easily. But behind its simplicity there is a big burden blocking the way. Don't just pray or wish or dream or just sit instead we must have to risk, to sacrifice and to help in order to blanket that barrier. If you have those then you have what it takes to be a hero.

There are countless definitions of heroes today but for me, as the word HERO mentioned, I usually remembered my parents.

They set the start of everything. In the beginning of my existence in this world, they are the one who first took care of me. They haven't sleep many nights just to assure my security. They always give me the stuffs I need, in fact, it is the responsibility of the parents to give the basic needs to their children. Before having or enroll in school, they are my first teacher--- they first gave the idea of counting, the alphabets and moral (po at opo). When I finally started my school life, they helped me in making the different requirements such as assignments and projects so that I will surpass the cut-off mark or pass the subject. But as I grow, I learned to stand on my own feet and at the same time, the expansion of my mind. As I walked on my chosen race, they are still there guiding me, counselling me and helping me in times of needy situations.

My parents was my hero since birth because they were the pixels of my life. Without them, it will be a blurred life or a lifeless abyss. With that, I want to thank you and salute you for everything you've done to me. You owe me a lot!

There are myriad heroes or heroines to choose from. It depends on us on who to choose from. We have different standards. One may choose their teacher as their hero or maybe Pres. Aquino or their friends or literally, Iron Man, Batman, Superman or even Juan de la Cruz.

WiKa NaTin Ang Daang MaTuwid

As the month of August came, the Philippines celebrated the "Buwan ng Wika" as a time in which we must use our National Language-Filipino, wherein this was proclaimed by our former President Manuel L. Quezon.

RefLeCtion

…   it ended this way.
For this recent grading period on my ict class, there is no doubt that I didnt learned a thing or merely gained new facts instead I learned a lot!! A very big thanks to our teacher in our ict class coz she taught us about the history of internet- back from the 50’s to the present time and the famous personalities involved- ,the major components and functions of the web browser, how the internet and the web browser meet, differentiating data types and lastly, Blogging!!.
But theres a problem Ive encountered on my way of learning. Every time we had our ict class there is a lot of disturbances or excuses. We fought to ignore the subject and focused on our doings and also I was impatient to copy the whole text that was written instead I used to shorten it. So, the result of which is we rushed on discussing and the score on my exam doesnt satisfy me fully and I felt ashamed of that.
So, for this second grading period, I MUST be industrious enough and must love the subject itself. And the faults that Ive made will be forever a bad memory but there’s the saying goes “we learned from our mistakes.

4TH SONA OF Pnoy

                                         4TH SONA OF Pnoy

Every President have their SONA or State of the Nation Address every fourth Monday of July wherein the President states the happenings in his/her recent year of terminology publicly. Last July 22, 2013 our beloved President Benigno C. Aquino had his fourth SONA where he tackled the following public issues: the Pantawid Pamilya Project, Irrigation System, Sangguniang Kabataan, the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum or the K-12 Education and others. SONA 2013 will also highlight different aspects of the nation - economy, jobs, asset reform, education, sports, government and ethics, health and environment, tourism, justice, urban poor, issues in Mindanao, foreign affairs and national security.
In his SONA, "the SK Issue" captured my interest since I've belong to the youth bracket. The SK is a political organization composed of individuals within the age of 15-18 years old. The SK Chairman heads the group with its 8 "Kagawad". Moreover, their duties and responsibilities is to work on the barangay programs and projects- organizing of tasks on fiestas, garbage collection, tree planting and other stuffs that will contribute to the cleanliness and beauty of the barangay. In his SONA, Pnoy said he will cut now the SK because he said that the SK only teach us to be corrupt in the early age.

I'm agreed to what he said because, as I observed in our barangay,  the members of the organization is not doing their responsibilities. Based on the murmuring of our neigborhood, they are only up to the scholarships given by the government. Thus, it is a formed of corruption I think.

"Gutom at Malnutrisyon, Sama-sama nating Wakasan"

We Filipinos marked out our calendar every July as the "Nutrition Month." For 37 years that we are doing it, almost all of us have been aware of everyone's nutrition. Thus the main vision and mission of this celebration is to inform us to be aware of our nutrition so that we can eradicate hunger and malnutrition.
This month's theme "Gutom at Malnutrisyon, Sama-sama nating Wakasan" implies every individual to make move in one of the major problem of the society, hunger and malnutrition. Some solutions for the problem is basically giving appropriate and nutritious foods to the in need or the malnourished one. Others were by exercising regularly, have an adequate sleep, always taking a bath and others. Following this steps will surely make you a normal and healthy individual and not prone to diseases.
We must have a good education and lets move in unison for we can easily eliminate starvation and malnutrition.

Dear Mr. Prexy

Dear Mr. President,

               Greeting Sir!
First of all, I would like to congratulate you for winning the last Presidential election and for not stopping to work as our President for the betterment of the country.
Hi Sir! I'm Edrian M.Alonzo, a student of Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS), concerned to what is happening in the Philippine government. As an independent individual, I have the right to suggest or comment on the actions of the government.
Honestly, I can see this change you've mentioned in your SONA's but its just little or merely no effect at all for some. So, I would suggest that you must do some of this actions to hasten the economic growth of the Philippines and to be a safe place to live in.
First, as a student, I would suggest that you must first provide the needs in schools because the K-12 is now implemented and used and it requires a number of rooms, chairs, books and other facilities that is needed in schools. Second, you must offer more job opportunities and increase the salaries of every employees to avoid citizens to work in another country and to avoid the so called "less man-power" here in Philippines. The third and so on is in your hand sir. You can do what you want that can improve the country's economy and to be a famous country that is known by everybody.

Regarding this matter, I do hoped that you will act in this issues.
               Again Sir,Good day!
